Commission a sign

$350 Free shippingTax included

Every sign in the shop started as a street I felt something about. A commission works the same way, except the street is yours.

If there's a corner in Toronto that matters to you - where you grew up, where something happened, where you still live - I'll make a sign for it. Same materials, same process, same attention as everything else in the shop.

How commissions work

Custom signs are produced in Standard Finish only. Street and neighbourhood names are the only text available - no personal phrases or custom slogans. Street number is optional. Toronto streets only.

Once payment is received your sign ships within two weeks via Canada Post Registered Mail.

About commissions

I'm especially drawn to making signs I can verify actually existed - through old photographs or Street View archives going back to 2009. If your street is one of those, all the better.

I review every request before starting work and reserve the right to decline anything that doesn't fit the spirit of the project.

I'll make signs for:

  • Real Toronto street names, past or present
  • Neighbourhood names
  • Address numbers are optional - street name only is fine

I won't make signs for:

  • Streets outside Toronto
  • Corporate, commercial, or brand names
  • Personal names not used as actual street names
  • Obscene or offensive content
  • Fictional street names
  • Address numbers that couldn't plausibly exist on the named street

A few other things:

  • Historical Toronto streets considered case by case
  • I review every request and reserve the right to decline anything that doesn't fit the project
  • Custom weathering isn't available - all commissions are Standard Finish

Shipping
Every custom order ships with tracking, signature confirmation, and insurance for the full value of your sign, through Canada Post Registered Mail. If anything happens to it in transit, you're covered.
