Small sculptures. Hand-finished in Toronto, one at a time.
There's more to these signs: read the full Toronto history.
A miniature replica of the historic Toronto acorn street sign at 262 Bloor Street West, near the western edge of the Annex. The original Rosco-manufactured signs of this type were a fixture of Toronto streets through much of the 20th century. Hand-finished with a clean white background, black frame, and embossed address. Mechanically solid, carefully finished, one of a kind.
Bloor Street
Bloor Street is named after Joseph Bloor, a 19th-century brewer and developer whose farmland once lay along the street’s original route. It began as a modest road connecting early residential and commercial areas, gradually extending both east and west as the city expanded.
Bloor Street West became known for prestigious residential neighbourhoods and cultural landmarks, while Bloor Street East grew through industrial zones that later transformed into diverse mixed-use communities. Together, the street forms a continuous artery that reflects Toronto’s growth, linking historic neighbourhoods, shopping districts, and cultural hubs.
